On 29 October 2023, SGM Kedah was invited to conduct a workshop on physical and mental health at SJKC Chung Hwa in Pokok Sena, in conjunction with the Substance Abuse Prevention Month and Domestic Violence Awareness Month. SGM youth division members spoke about the detrimental impact of drugs and violence on society, encouraging students to adopt a healthy lifestyle. The on-site “Seeds of Hope and Action” exhibition was viewed by 52 people.

Health Awareness Programmes

On 19 November 2023, SGM Sarawak organised a health talk at its culture centre, attracting some 100 participants. Cardiologist and electrophysiologist Dr Ho Kian Hui presented an overview of the heart and heart rhythm disorders. He advised high-risk individuals, including the elderly, smokers, individuals with high cholesterol and those with diabetes, to seek prompt treatment if they experience chest pain. He also discussed preventive measures and dispelled common myths.

Attendees calculated their Body Mass Index (BMI), checked their blood pressure and glucose levels, and visited the SoHA exhibition.
