On the first two weekends of November 2023, SGM Selangor and the Klang Art Association (KAS) coorganised the annual “Klang Artist Society Art Exhibition” at the SGM Selangor Culture Centre, showcasing 50 artworks in the form of oil paintings, acrylics, ink paintings, calligraphy and more, crafted by 26 artists.
Former Selangor exco member Datuk Teng Chang Khim, who opened the exhibition on 5 November, remarked that Klang stands out as one of the most vibrant hubs for local artists, fostering numerous exceptional talents. He emphasised that the exhibitions provided art enthusiasts with the opportunity to look at diverse artistic styles and served as a valuable platform for them to draw inspiration from fellow artists.
At the opening ceremony, speeches were given by SGM Communication, Culture and Information division head Chia Kok Peng and KAS chairman Lee Kee Seng. Participating artist Goh Boon Cheng delivered a lecture explaining Chinese characters.
Throughout the exhibition period, live calligraphy and painting demonstrations were presented to the visitors.
