From 12 July–10 August, Wisma Kebudayaan SGM welcomed 3,179 visitors to the Depicting the Beauty of Nature – Ink Painting Exhibition by Hon Peow.” The exhibition invited viewers to immerse themselves in the serene beauty of Malaysias landscapes, especially the tranquil rubber trees and scenic Taiping Lake Gardens, through 60 delicate brushwork pieces by the 86-year-old artist.

At the opening ceremony on 26 July, SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai commended the artist for his unwavering pursuit of expressing a profound love for nature and for his contributions to advancing artistic education in Malaysia.

Hon Peow humbly expressed his gratitude to all visitors, even inviting feedback and comments on his works.

The ceremony also featured an opening remark from Housing and Local Government Minister YB Nga Kor Ming, delivered on his behalf by SGM president Johnny Ng, as the minister was unable to attend due to unforeseen circumstances. In his message, YB Nga commended Hon Peow for his perseverance in creating art with enduring passion, a spirit that continues to shine brightly through the years.

As part of the exhibition programmes, co-curator Chan Wen Xuan led a guided tour on 12 and 19 July, offering visitors deeper insights into the stories behind the exhibition. On 27 July, Hon Peow personally conducted a tour, explaining each piece in detail, followed by a Chinese ink painting workshop where participants had the rare opportunity to learn directly from the artist.

The exhibition was previously held at the SGM Penang Culture Centre from 17 May–1 June, attracting 1,185 visitors.
