On June 18, 2017, SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai, Women Division Leader Chan Oi Mooi, Men Division Leader Dr Christopher Boey, SGM Young Men Division and Young Women Division leaders and SGM Perak leaders gathered for a leaders meeting at the SGM Perak Culture Centre, marking the day with new determination for kosen-rufu.

The meeting began with Youth Division members singing “Youth! Scale the Mountain of Kosen-rufu” and “Youth with a Noble Vow” with cheerful and resolute voices.

SGM Men Division Vice-Leader Yeoh Bee Chin spoke on the significance of the new era of worldwide kosen-rufu. Later, a new organisation structure for SGM Perak was announced. In the years that passed, SGM Perak has expanded from 12 chapters to 18 chapters, and from four Headquarters to nine Headquarters. This was also a fresh departure towards achieving SGM’s target of expanding the organisation with 20,000 “professors of happiness” by 2018.

The newly-appointed leaders were introduced, and representatives from all four divisions expressed their determination for kosen-rufu, which includes stirring waves of dialogues for the sake of expanding friendship and peace. Newly-appointed SGM Perak Region Leader Woo Chee Seng expressed his determination to build a harmonious and united SGM Perak through sharing Buddhism.

In his speech, SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai once again urged the participants to actively share Buddhism with others and awaken people to their mission as Bodhisattvas of the Earth. He stressed that the Soka Gakkai will always focus on sharing Buddhism and urged SGM Perak leaders to also actively share Buddhism with others.
