“Seeds of Hope” Held in Sabah and Kuala Lumpur

From October 22 to 24, 2018, SGM Sabah organised the “Seeds of Hope” (SoH) exhibition at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS). Eighteen UMS student narrated in this exhibition.

Several students who viewed the exhibition commented that “the content was rich and educational; it raises the awareness of relationship between society with people and environment.” Meanwhile, Arwin Thevan Vasu Thevan mentioned that he began to notice the issues happening around the globe and realised that he has to spread the message of hope which he learnt from this exhibition. Muhammad Adzham Fathy bin Abful Halim also mentioned that everything begins from ourselves and hoped that he could contribute more to the people and environment.

The exhibition was visited by 202 people, with UMS Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr D. Kamarudin D. Mudin being one of them.

On the other side, on October 26 and 28, 2018, SGM Kuala Lumpur was invited by SJK (C) Rasa, Hulu Selangor to hold the SoH exhibition and traditional family games at its carnival. Twenty-four students narrated in the exhibition which welcomed around 280 visitors. After the visit, Hulu Selangor MP YB June Leow Hsiad Hui expressed hope that this exhibition can be more widely-known to society.

Students from the lower primary classes also watched The Quiet Revolution, an environmental education video supported by the SGI, which tells the story of how India, Slovakia and Kenya solved some of their environment issues.
