SGM Sabah Community Health Talk – Better Foot Health, Improved Quality of Life
On 19 April 2026, SGM Sabah held a health talk at its culture centre, featuring podologist Christina Hwong Ching Huay as the invited speaker. Her talk, titled “Your Feet, Your Life: The Hidden Key to Wellbeing,” attracted approximately 40 participants.
During the session, Christina provided an in-depth explanation of the importance of foot care, covering basic maintenance methods and common foot-related issues. She highlighted the close connection between foot health and overall quality of life, in which the feet play a vital role in supporting bodily movement. Neglecting foot care over time may not only cause discomfort but can also affect daily mobility and physical wellbeing.
She encouraged participants to develop healthy habits such as performing regular foot exercises to improve blood circulation, using moisturising products to prevent dry skin, and maintaining correct walking posture to reduce pressure on the feet.
Through clear and accessible explanations, participants gained a more concrete understanding of practical health care methods that can be applied in daily life. The event was conducted in a warm and engaging atmosphere, further raising public awareness of the importance of foot health.
