Nichiren Buddhism Entrance Course Inspires Participants towards a Happier Life

In May 2026, SGM Pahang and SGM Sarawak respectively organised Nichiren Buddhism Entrance Course (NBEC), guiding new friends to gain a deeper understanding of Nichiren Buddhism through engaging presentations and interactive exchanges, while learning about the Buddhist perspective on happiness and life.

On 9 May, the course held at the SGM Pahang Culture Centre attracted 25 participants, including two “Professors of Happiness.” Planned and facilitated by the youth division, the programme covered topics such as a brief history of Buddhism, the core principles of the Soka Gakkai, and fundamental Buddhist concepts including the “Ten Worlds” and the “Three Treasures.” Through interactive games and practical examples from daily life, speakers explained the importance of Buddhist practice in a clear and accessible manner, allowing participants to deepen their understanding in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere.

On 17 May, the course held at the SGM Sarawak Culture Centre was attended by 46 participants, including two new friends. The session introduced the development and history of the Soka Gakkai in a lively and approachable way, while highlighting the mentor-disciple spirit of the three founding presidents in advancing kosen-rufu. Using relatable examples from everyday life, speakers also explained concepts such as the “Ten Worlds” and the Buddhist view of happiness in simple terms, encouraging participants to reflect on how to create more meaningful and valuable lives.

In addition, both sessions featured faith experience sharing, encouraging participants to build lives rich in “treasures of the heart” through prayer and the practice of faith and study. The atmosphere was warm and engaging, with lively interaction among participants. Through dialogue and learning, attendees deepened their understanding of Buddhism and took another step towards happier and more fulfilling lives.
