Negeri Sembilan Nichiren Buddhism Entrance Course Guides Newcomers in Understanding Buddhist Teachings

On 18 April 2026, SGM Negeri Sembilan organised the Nichiren Buddhism Entrance Course (NBEC), attracting 149 participants, including 15 newcomers. Two participants later became “Professor of Happiness,” officially joining SGM. Through clear, accessible explanations, along with lively interactions, the course helped participants gain a deeper understanding of the philosophy and practice of Nichiren Buddhism.

The programme covered the core teachings of Soka Gakkai as well as fundamental concepts such as the “Ten Worlds.” The presenter used everyday examples to explain these ideas in a simple and engaging way, enabling newcomers to grasp key principles in a relaxed atmosphere and to appreciate the close connection between faith and daily life.

Chong Hock Chai from the men’s division shared his faith experience, describing how prayer and concrete action gradually transformed his circumstances. His story highlighted the importance of consistent faith-based practice.

The course concluded with small-group discussions. New participants openly shared their personal concerns and life challenges, while SGM leaders offered encouragement and guidance based on Buddhist principles. These sincere exchanges fostered closer connections and allowed attendees to experience more tangibly the hope and direction that faith can bring.
