Navigator Commemorative General Meeting Strengthen Mission for Cultural and Peace Exchange

On 10 May 2026, the SGM Navigator Group held the “Navigators Training Course cum 13th Anniversary Commemorative General Meeting” at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM (WKSGM). Over 60 group members from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Negeri Sembilan and Penang gathered for the event, further deepening their awareness of their mission in navigating and public relations through learning and exchange.

SGM External Affairs and Communication head Joanne Foo delivered a presentation titled “Essential Skill for Effective Connection, Communication and Experience.” She pointed out that navigators are not merely hosts for events, but also important bridges connecting people’s hearts and minds. She further explained that public relations work is not about confrontation, but about treating others with courtesy, offering patient explanations, and continuing dialogue even amid difficulties, thereby fostering social understanding and peaceful exchange.

SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai encouraged group members to welcome every visitor with sincerity, enthusiasm and friendliness, enabling the public to experience Soka’s humanistic spirit and way of treating others, while further expanding networks of friendship and trust. He also stressed that the arts and cultural activities organised by SGM constitute an important cultural movement for the promotion of peace and kosen-rufu, expressing his hope that members would continue to build meaningful connections so that more people may come to understand the peace philosophy of the Soka Gakkai.

Participants shared that, through the training programme, they gained a deeper understanding of the mission of navigating and public relations, and came to realise that communication is not merely the transmission of information, but a sincere connection between one life and another. They resolved to continue welcoming visitors with sincerity in the future, expanding understanding and trust through daily practice, and contributing continuously to cultural and peace exchange.
