On 20 June 2026, Soka International School Malaysia (SISM) organised an education fair themed “Discovering My Direction, Driving My Dreams” at the Harmony Hall on its campus. The event attracted numerous students and parents, who gathered to learn about higher education opportunities from over 40 tertiary institutions worldwide, including the UK’s Russell Group, Australia’s Group of Eight (Go8) and Soka University of Japan (SUJ).
One of the highlights of the event was a keynote lecture titled “The Global Lab: Tackling Global Challenges through Green Technology and FILA,” delivered by SUJ Faculty of International Liberal Arts (FILA) administrative director Koji Oda and Dr Stella Chan from SUJ’s Faculty of Science and Engineering. Mr Oda introduced Soka University’s educational philosophy and admission requirements, while Dr Chan provided an accessible overview of the “Global Laboratory” concept. She explored the integration of green technology with international interdisciplinary liberal arts education, inspiring young people to break down academic barriers, promote sustainable development, and reflect on how to address global challenges such as energy, pollution and climate change.
At the education fair, the consultation booths of various universities attracted many students and parents who stopped by to engage in discussions. After listening to the keynote lecture, many attendees further enquired with university representatives and the speakers about courses and other details, creating a vibrant atmosphere of exchange.
The education fair provided an excellent platform for students to understand their future academic directions while promoting the philosophy of human-centred education, encouraging youth to broaden their international horizons and explore more possibilities for their future development.
