SoHA Exhibition Cultivates Environmental Awareness and Social Responsibility Among Tawau Pupils
On 16 June 2026, SGM Sabah and SK Holy Trinity in Tawau jointly organised the “Seeds of Hope and Action” (SoHA) exhibition at the school, with 30 teachers leading 750 pupils from Standard One to Six through the exhibition.
To deepen the pupils’ learning experience, 48 pupils from Standard Four to Six underwent training to serve as exhibition narrators. On the day of the event, they led their fellow pupils through the exhibition, introducing them to the environmental and social challenges facing the world today while highlighting the importance of creating change through individual action. The narrators presented the exhibition with confidence and enthusiasm, demonstrating the knowledge and skills they had acquired through their training.
After viewing the exhibition, pupils wrote reflections on what they had learnt and shared the actions they hoped to take in the future. Although some younger pupils were not yet confident in writing, they expressed their hopes and aspirations through drawings, reflecting their heartfelt engagement with the exhibition.
Teacher Zakrani Bakri, who coordinated the event, remarked that the exhibition not only broadened the pupils’ knowledge but also inspired them to pay greater attention to social and environmental issues. She expressed confidence that the pupils would share what they had learnt with their families and friends, helping to spread environmental awareness and positive action throughout the wider community.
The school highly commended the exhibition, noting that it helped nurture good character, social awareness and a sense of responsibility towards protecting the planet. It also encouraged pupils to put their commitment to a better future into action, allowing the seeds of care for society and the environment to take root within the school community.
