SGM Holds 42nd AGM – Reports Organisational Progress and Continues Youth Development Efforts
On 24 May 2026, SGM held its 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) at the SGM Culture Centre, attended by 224 full members.
SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai said that, through the sincere participation of members nationwide, SGM made steady progress in propagation, education, culture, community engagement and interfaith exchange in 2025, further demonstrating the vitality and growth of youth-led initiatives.
In his speech, SGM president Ng Teck Sim expressed his gratitude to all members for their support and sincere financial contributions in 2025. Looking ahead to 2026, the Year of Vibrant Growth for a Youthful Soka Gakkai Worldwide, he encouraged all members to strive with renewed determination towards the goal of 8,000-youth shakubuku.
The meeting confirmed the minutes of the 41st AGM held on 25 May 2025, adopted the proposed amendments to the SGM Constitution, adopted the audited financial report for the financial year ended 31 December 2025, re-appointed Messrs. Crowe Malaysia PLT (Crowe) as the external auditor for the financial year ending 31 December 2026, and authorised the General Council to fix Crowe’s remuneration.
The meeting later received the General Council’s annual report on the workings of SGM in 2025 and provided progress updates on Yayasan Soka Gakkai Malaysia, the Ikeda Memorial Park, as well as Soka International School Malaysia.
The nine incumbent General Council members whose terms had expired were re-elected at the AGM. The full lineup of the General Council is as follows:
