Golden Age Group Marks 24th Anniversary with Nationwide Celebrations

Throughout June 2026, the SGM Golden Age Group celebrated its 24th anniversary with commemorative general meetings nationwide. Members of the group, which was established on 2 June 2002, gathered joyfully to study the congratulatory message from SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai, watch guidance videos by President Ikeda, and share faith experiences. Through singing, study and culture programmes, they relived the pioneering spirit and reaffirmed their shared mission for kosen-rufu.

Centred on the theme “Passing the Torch of Hope, Creating the Future Together,” the activities encouraged group members to maintain a youthful life state, continuously take on challenges, foster successors and create value in life. They were inspired to lead lives of good fortune, virtue and longevity filled with smiles, hope and proactive action.

The celebrations in each state featured unique highlights. Sabah featured an inspiring experience on fostering children’s growth through faith and a Gosho lecture titled “The Wisdom for Leading a Long Life of Good Fortune and Benefit”; Penang showcased the conviction of an undefeated life through two experiences of successfully overcaming illness; Johor saw over 600 members gather, bringing the event to a climax with a vibrant choir performance that radiated the joy of long-awaited reunions.

Furthermore, Pahang presented the experiences of three members who shared how practising Buddhism brought them wisdom, courage and profound life transformations; Perak demonstrated the passing of the kosen-rufu spirit through a four-generation faith lineage and a session titled “My Five Challenges;” meanwhile, Kuala Lumpur Puchong South Region hosted a thematic forum discussing the secrets to longevity, where participants unanimously agreed that having a purpose in life, maintaining a smile, and continuously striving for kosen-rufu are the definitive keys to eternal youth.

Through these diverse activities, Golden Age Group members reaffirmed that by maintaining steadfast faith, caring for others and dedicating themselves to kosen-rufu, they can continuously create value in life, setting a shining example for future generations with lives filled with hope and mission.
