Synopsis

The New Human Revolution is a novelised history of the Soka Gakkai. The protagonist is Shin’ichi Yamamoto, third president of the Soka Gakkai (whose character represents SGI President Daisaku Ikeda)

…The historic dialogue with Arnold Toynbee unfolds! Through dialogue, Shin’ichi Yamamoto paves a new path for peace and humanism, and for a world religion to spread its wings, as the Soka Gakkai enters the second chapter of the kosen-rufu movement.

Chapters (Summary of Contents)

Heart and Soul: 1972 is designated “Year of the Community.” Knowing this is a decisive moment for kosen-rufu, Shin’ichi pours his heart and soul into offering guidance at university group meetings and in places such as Tokyo and Okinawa.

Dialogue: In May, he begins his trip to Europe and the US. In London, he commences a “dialogue for the 21st century” with Arnold Toynbee. Covering civilisation, religion and other diverse topics, their profoundly significant dialogue spanned two years and totalled 40 hours.

Soaring: In July, he visits and encourages members affected by rainstorm disasters. In October, the Sho-Hondo is completed, which Shin’ichi celebrates with members worldwide.
