In April, several distinguished guests visited the Mentor and Disciple Peace Hall (MDPH) at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM. The hall introduces visitors to SGM’s long-standing efforts in promoting peace, culture and education. Visitors also gain insight into the ideals and initiatives of SGI president Daisaku Ikeda, including themes of dialogue and respect for the dignity of life.
On 2 April, renowned Malaysian calligrapher and seal artist Dr Low Cheong Sin visited with his spouse. Following the visit, he inscribed the message “The Light of Civilisation” as his impression.

On 12 April, Penang Port Commission chairperson Dato’ Yeoh Soon Hin toured the hall prior to officiating the “Timeless Art Legacy – Exhibition of Artworks Donated by Sim Tiak Choo.” He expressed appreciation for SGM’s long-standing commitment to promoting peace and uniting people.

On 21 April, a 15-member arts delegation from China, led by renowned contemporary Peking Opera artist Meng Guanglu, visited the hall while in Malaysia for the ASEAN Culture and Art Creation Season International Exhibition (Malaysia) 2026. Zhao Mingguang, China’s chief representative for the Thai-ASEAN+6 Business Promotion Association, commended SGM’s efforts in promoting arts and cultural exchange, and expressed hope for further collaboration in the future.

On 27 April, Monash University Malaysia researchers Dr. Angeline Wong and Dr. Azliyana Azhari, who are leading a climate change research project, visited the Mentor–Disciple Peace Hall. Dr. Angeline shared how inspiring it was to learn about the global contributions of Daisaku Ikeda, particularly his dedication to dialogue and education. She also found it fascinating to trace SGM’s journey in Malaysia, which conveyed the long-standing impact of the movement in peacebuilding and sustainability.

Through these visits, the Soka Gakkai’s humanistic philosophy continues to reach a wider audience, inspiring dialogue and mutual understanding.
