Blood Donation Drive and Children’s Art Exhibition Foster Caring Community

On 12 July 2026, SGM Kuala Lumpur, in collaboration with the Neighbourhood Watch Committee of SS22B  Damansara Jaya, coorganised a blood donation drive at Atria Shopping Gallery, Petaling Jaya. The event attracted around 160 participants, with 98 units of blood successfully collected in support of United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Wellbeing.

An opening ceremony was held on the day, attended by committee chairperson Colonel (Rtd.) Roslly Yussof, Damansara Police Station Officer-in-Charge Inspector Lee Sheng Wey, and Alex Yap, representing Bandar Utama state assemblyperson YB Jamaliah Jamaluddin. The guests expressed their appreciation for the collaborative efforts of the participating organisations in promoting community service and commended the event for strengthening community care and neighbourhood cooperation.

Held alongside the blood donation drive was the “FriendenArt,” featuring 18 artworks created by eight children with special needs, showcasing their creativity and potential. Through art, the exhibition encouraged interaction and fostered greater public understanding and acceptance of children with special needs, reflecting SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals.

Together, the blood donation drive and art exhibition brought the community together by promoting both public health and social inclusion. The event not only contributed to hospital blood supplies but also raised public awareness and care for children with special needs, while further strengthening neighbourhood ties and fostering a healthy, inclusive and caring community.
