Gajokai, Byakuren and Sokahan Training Course Strengthens Mission of Protecting SGM

From 24–26 July 2026, a SGM Gajokai, Byakuren and Sokahan groups training course was held at the SGM Culture Centre, assembling 119 participants from across Malaysia. Through study sessions, dialogue and practical training, participants deepened their understanding of their mission to protect the organisation while strengthening the shared commitment to responsibility and unity.

In her opening address, SGM youth division vice-leader Lee Kam Yit welcomed participants to their first national gathering in 12 years, encouraging everyone to embrace the spirit of “I am Shin’ichi Yamamoto” and build an unwavering front line for protecting SGM. Representatives of the three groups then made presentations sharing the respective groups’ history and founding spirit, studying President Ikeda’s guidance and explaining the significance of each group’s emblem. The opening day’s programme also included professional skills training, emergency evacuation drills and team-building activities.

The following day, SGM Soka Spirit leader Ng Teck Lih lectured on protecting the organisation. By revisiting the history of kosen-rufu, participants gained a deeper understanding of how obstacles function and were encouraged to uphold the spirit of advancing together with President Ikeda while courageously upholding justice. Seniors in faith also shared experiences of protecting the organisation, inspiring the younger generation to inherit this spirit and fulfil their mission to safeguard the organisation. In the afternoon, participants took part in first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training to strengthen their emergency response and life-saving skills.

On the third and final day, men’s division leader Looi Chee Choong studied the five eternal guidelines of the Soka Gakkai with participants, encouraging them to strengthen their faith and advance steadily on the “ship of happiness” – the Soka Gakkai. Youth division leader Tan Jun Kong emphasised that the greatest way to protect the organisation is through shakubuku. He encouraged participants to base their efforts on earnest prayer, embody the spirit of “many in body, one in mind,” expand their networks of friendship, and advance shakubuku through sincere dialogue and home visits.

Representatives from the three groups also shared their resolutions to inherit the founding spirit of protecting the organisation and inspire more youths to shoulder the noble mission of safeguarding the organisation while advancing kosen-rufu.

Combining study, practical training and experience sharing, the three-day course further strengthened participants’ determination to advance together with President Ikeda while deepening their sense of mission to protect the organisation and advance kosen-rufu. It also laid a firm foundation for fostering the next generation of guardians who will carry this mission forward.
