On 16 March, SGM held a nationwide online meeting commemorating 16 March Kosen-rufu Day, with over 1,500 participants attending. At the outset, SGM young men’s division leader Siow Yoon Kee explained the day’s profound significance, noting that 68 years ago, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda entrusted the mission of achieving kosen-rufu to the youth division.
Young men’s division member Liew Wen Yong and young women’s division member Saw Bee Yen then shared their victory reports.
Following this, SGM young women’s division leader Koo Wei Qian announced the official launch of the “MY GEN SOKA” Instagram platform and the “My Soka Journey” webpage, encouraging more youths to take part in the “My Five Challenges” movement to strengthen faith and create victorious experiences.

In his concluding remarks, SGM youth division leader Andrew Looi emphasised that the mission of kosen-rufu rests with the youth division. He noted that last year’s large-scale activities provided vital platforms for engaging youth in propagation, reminded them that 16 March is a day to make a vow, and urged all youth to take action while upholding the mentor-disciple spirit.
Finally, SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai underscored that engaging in shakubuku to repay one’s debt of gratitude to our mentor and to fulfil the mission of the Bodhisattvas of the Earth is a deeply meaningful and joyful practice.
