On 14 December 2025, a total of 1,539 candidates sat for the Intermediate Level and Youth Level 2 Buddhist study examinations, held nationwide at 35 venues. The syllabus covered President Ikedas lectures on The Opening of the Eyes,” as well as the chapters The Lineage and Tradition of Buddhist Humanism” and Repudiating the Errors of the Nichiren Shoshu Priesthood under Nikken” from The Basics of Buddhism 2.

Soka Gakkai president Minoru Harada sent a message praising the candidates for making the most of their busy schedules, overcoming hardships and earnestly studying Buddhist philosophy. Citing President Ikedas guidance, he emphasised that the true aim of the examinations is not merely to pass, but to strengthen ones faith and become a winner in faith.

SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai addressed candidates at SJKC Chen Moh in Petaling Jaya, affirming that those who challenged the study examinations are qualified practitioners of faith. He expressed his hope that candidates would pursue lifelong study of the highest Buddhist philosophy and continue to triumph over lifes trials.

Some candidates shared that preparing for the examinations deepened their conviction in Buddhism, while others noted that in-depth study enabled them to renew their vow to engage in shakubuku and uphold the spirit of compassion.

To assist candidates in mastering key points and strengthening their understanding, the SGM study department held two online learning sessions prior to the examinations on 27 September and 25 October. Buddhist study coordinators from each state also organised study groups to support the candidates in their preparation.
