On 4 March, a delegation from the Institute of Oriental Philosophy, Japan (IOP), an affiliate of the Soka Gakkai, paid a cordial visit to the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilisation at the International Islamic University Malaysia (ISTAC-IIUM). They were received by the dean of ISTAC-IIUM, Prof. Datuk Dr Abdelaziz Berghout. Discussions centred around the potential organization of the “Lotus Sutra Exhibition” at ISTAC-IIUM in the future.
On 5 March, the IOP delegation visited the University of Malaya’s Centre for Civilisational Dialogue (UMCCD), where they engaged in discussions with UMCCD director, Emeritus Prof. Datuk Dr Azizan Baharuddin, among others. This visit reinforced their commitment to collaborate towards building a better world.
IOP and UMCCD had previously signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in 2012. Both visits were attended by SGM representatives, led by General Director Koh Sia Feai.
