Initiatives to Promote SDGs

In March, SGM continued to promote SDGs through engagement and education.

In Penang, the “Better Future? ACT NOW” exhibition, held at the Soka Peace Centre Malaysia (SPCM) since 16 September last year, successfully concluded its run on 9 March.

To complement the exhibition, a series of engaging workshops were offered to enrich participants’ understanding and involvement in promoting the SDGs. On 16 December 2023, a workshop on green living was organised. Later on 20 January, participants made Chinese New Year decorations and learnt how to turn kitchen scraps into fertiliser. Besides that, a health talk centred on breastfeeding was conducted on 9 March, offering a comprehensive exploration of sustainable initiatives and actionable strategies for a brighter future.

Meanwhile, the “Seeds of Hope and Action” (SoHA) exhibition was held at Heriott-Watt University in Putrajaya on 6 and 7 March. The exhibition which attracted some 80 visitors served as a platform for fostering discussions and increasing awareness about the critical need for environmental protection and sustainable practices within the community.
