In accord with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman’s (UTAR) Global Citizenship Awareness Campaign, SGM, together with UTAR’s Sustainable Development Club, UTAR Community Service Society and the university’s Department of Student Affairs held “Everything You Treasure – For a World Free from Nuclear Weapons” (EYT) peace exhibition at its Sungai Long campus. From November 21 to 23, 2018, 27 students narrated for this exhibition which welcomed 157 visitors.
After visiting the exhibition, Global Citizenship Awareness Campaign chairperson Gan Swee Ying mentioned that since nuclear weapons exist in our world, society needs to be educated about them. Jeremy Lim, one of the narrators, said that visiting this exhibition has enabled him to learn practical ways in which we can work towards nuclear weapons abolition.
Other visitors left positive comments such as “I should start communicating with and contribute to the society by working together in accomplishing this same goal”, “People should pay close attention to world issues and join hands together to do everything we can” and “This exhibition was inspiring.”
