On 26 October 2023, YTM Tunku Temenggong Kedah Dato’ Seri DiRaja Tan Sri Tunku Puteri Intan Safinaz Almarhum Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah visited the Mentor and Disciple Peace Hall (MDPH) in Wisma Kebudayaan SGM, accompanied by SGM General Director Koh Sia Feai, president Micheal Kok and several others.
Tunku Puteri viewed panels about the origins of SGI’s peace movement, President Ikeda’s endeavours in creating a harmonious and peaceful society, as well as the roles SGM plays in promoting peace, culture and education.
Having served as the chancellor and pro-chancellor of several local universities in Malaysia, Tunku Puteri expressed keen interest upon learning that President Ikeda had received 408 academic honours, including four conferred by local universities.
After the visit, Tunku Puteri expressed her admiration for President Ikeda’s profound insights. She praised his emphasis on universality and humanity, noting that these principles align closely with those advocated by the Malaysian Red Crescent Society, of which she is the current chair. She believes these shared values will contribute to the betterment of society.
