In preparation for September’s Run for Peace, SGM engaged with government ministries and state departments, forging partnerships to support the event.

On 20 February, an SGM delegation visited the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Putrajaya to present the event’s concept paper to Mohd Hilmi Dahlan from the sports development division of the National Youth and Sports Department, discussing plans for the nationwide event.

This was followed by a courtesy visit on 6 March to National Unity Minister YB Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang at the Parliament Building.

 At the state level, in June and July, SGM Kedah, Kelantan, Perak and Melaka representatives met with their respective State Youth and Sports Departments to coordinate the run, while SGM Sarawak held discussion with the department’s Sibu branch. 

On 6 August, Johor deputy state secretary (sports, youth and volunteers) Dato’ On Jabbar@Jaafar chaired a coordination meeting with SGM Johor representatives.
