On 4 December 2023, Soka University of Japan (SUJ) and New Era University College (NEUC) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance their academic collaborations. An SGM delegation, led by General Director Koh Sia Feai, witnessed the ceremony held at the NEUC campus.
During the ceremony, SUJ president Prof Masashi Suzuki mentioned the active participation of Malaysian students studying at SUJ, while NEUC vice-chancellor Professor Mok Soon Chong shared his experience serving as a visiting professor at SUJ in the past.
They also discussed upcoming collaborations, including exchange programmes and the establishment of a research centre in the name of Daisaku Ikeda. A campus tour followed.
Also present at the ceremony was SUJ’s Faculty of International Liberal Arts vice-dean Prof Ichiro Sugimoto, who previously shared his research article at a conference held at NEUC in September 2023.
