The spirit of patriotism came alive on 31 August as SGM members actively participated in several National Day celebrations.
At Putrajaya, 80 SGM youth members presented a vibrant six-minute cultural performance as part of a showcase highlighting the traditions of Malaysia’s Malay, Chinese, Indian and other ethnic groups. When the melody of “Tian Mi Mi” filled the air, the SGM youth gracefully performed with Chinese fans, capturing the elegance of Chinese culture. The grand celebration, attended by national leaders, was broadcast live on television and online.
Following the performance, Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim gave the performers a thumbs-up, exclaiming “Great show!” National department of Culture and Arts director general Mohd Amran Mohd Haris also praised SGM, noting SGM’s strong organisational skills and cooperative spirit as vital for long-term collaboration with the government.
In Negeri Sembilan, 18 SGM youth members joined the state-level celebration at the Seremban City Council Square, presenting a performance that combined cultural and theatrical elements, conveying the message of safeguarding the nation’s peace.
Meanwhile, in Klang, Selangor, SGM president Johnny Ng and 30 members participated in a National Day parade near the Bandar Botanic Garden, adding to the festive spirit.
