SGM was recognised as a “Catalyst in the National Visual Arts Industry” at the National Visual Arts Development Board’s (NVADB) Art Appreciation Night, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre on 10 January.

SGM president Michael Kok received the award on behalf of the organisation.

The others in the same category were Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers, Art Expo Malaysia, Rimbun Dahan, G13 Gallery and House of Matahati HOM.

The event organised to commemorate NVADB’s 65th anniversary was officiated by Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture (MOTAC) secretary-general Dato’ Roslan Tan Sri Abdul Rahman, representing MOTAC Minister YB Dato Sri Tiong King Sing.

Also present were MOTAC deputy secretary-general (management) Dato’ Shaharuddin Abu Sohot, NVADB chairperson Shaik Rizal Sulaiman and director-general Amerrudin Ahmad.
