A vibrant celebration of Malaysia’s multicultural spirit came to life on 20 April, as the SGM Dove Dance Group presented a stunning cultural performance at the SGM Culture Centre. The event drew some 1,000 people, including government officials, academics, community representatives, SGM members and their friends.
Themed “Precious Legacy,” the event showcased a mix of classical, folk, fusion and Muhibbah dances, earning praise for its powerful message of harmony and cultural appreciation.

National Department for Culture and Arts general director Mohd Amran Mohd Haris remarked that the performances showcased Malaysia’s rich cultural heritage and helped build bridges of friendship across differences.
National Academy of Arts, Culture and Heritage (ASWARA) deputy rector for student and alumni affairs Assoc Prof Ts Dr Zulkifli Ab Rashid praised the dancers as professional-level and said that the event celebrated the beauty of cultural diversity.
Kajang Municipal Council member Thiagarajah Rajagopal lauded the event’s role in strengthening interethnic ties and fostering long-term social harmony.
Head of Interfaith at the Malaysian Organisation for Hindu Knowledge on Science, Heritage and Arts (MOHKSHA) Thurai Chantheran praised the performance as a strong example of a Muhibbah programme.
The enthusiastic response from the audience affirmed the enduring power of cultural exchange in fostering national unity.
