“The Lotus Sutra – A Message of Peace and Harmonious Coexistence” exhibition is set to return starting this September, after a decade-long hiatus. SGM study department leader Chia Kok Peng, conducted an online study session on 20 April with some 250 members from student division, high school division and culture group to deepen their understanding of the Lotus Sutra in preparation for the upcoming exhibition.
During the session, Mr Chia shared the purpose of organising the “Lotus Sutra Exhibition,” and elaborated on the translations of the Lotus Sutra, its origin, significance and profound insights. He emphasised that the Lotus Sutra serves as a timeless guide which offers a simple yet profound path to eternal happiness, and encouraged everyone to explore its teachings.
Young men’s division leader Chang Chung Bin later introduced the exhibition’s content and spoke about the recruitment of exhibition narrators.
Youth division leader Andrew Looi concluded the study by encouraging the attendees to seize the exhibition as an opportunity for learning and initiating dialogue with others.
