Throughout the month of August, SGM continued to actively promote environmental sustainability and health awareness through various initiatives.
Environmental awareness activities
On 9 August, SGM collaborated with the Malaysian Recycling Alliance (MAREA) to conduct a “Segregation at Source” workshop at the SGM Culture Centre. The workshop aimed to equip the Run for Peace 2025 organising committees nationwide with practical knowledge on waste sorting.
On 22 and 23 August, recycling activities were also carried out at the SGM Kedah Culture Centre and Sungai Petani Centre during the Run for Peace runner kit collection, with support from solid waste management company E-Idaman Sdn Bhd.
“Seeds of Hope and Action” exhibition
The Seeds of Hope and Action (SoHA) exhibition, which promotes the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was showcased at three venues: SGM Perak Culture Centre on 3 August; during the launch of “Xtif Johor,” a programme promoting sports as a healthy lifestyle, at Dataran Pantai Air Papan, Mersing on 24 August; and the SGM Culture Centre on 24 and 31 August.
