Academic and Cultural Exchanges at Art Conference

On 17 March, the International Association of Creative Arts (IACA) Art Conference was held at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM, participated by 50 local and overseas artists, scholars and art enthusiasts.

Keynote speakers were Cao Tang Men Eastern Arts Society president Dr Cheah Thien Soong, Quanzhou College of Technology vice-dean Prof Dr Paul Boey, International Art & Culture Singapore Federation chairperson Teng Wen Chang, Taoyuan City Dadi Art and Literature president Hsu Jui-Yueh and Prof Dr Chung Yi of Yunnan University of Finance and Economics. They explored the essence of art from several perspectives, including history, education and cultural exchange.

During the conference, IACA president Shirley Chu highlighted the importance of innovation while preserving the cultural essence of painting to adapt to contemporary developments.

Federation of Asian Artists Malaysia Committee chairman Dr Choong Kam Kow commented that the conference, held in conjunction with the 1st International Association of Creative Arts (IACA) exhibition, greatly complemented the exhibition and contributed to the advancement of art.

Masterpiece Auction House executive director Datuk Oon Pheng Khoon expressed his belief that facilitating global art exchanges will cultivate mutual understanding and appreciation among different cultures.

The conference was a collaboration between IACA, YES International College, Aesthetics Museum of Johor Bahru and SGM.
