March 11 marked the date of the historic World Youth General Meeting was held, where SGI youth around the world gathered before their mentor to inherit the baton of succession of kosen-rufu. In order to celebrate this day in great victory, SGM Youth Division members held happiness sharing meetings throughout the nation to achieve 6,000 youthful Professors of Happiness throughout February and March. The meetings were filled with the vigour and vitality of youth.

In the north of the peninsular, Kedah, Penang and Perak held several such gatherings. From February 19 to 24, SGM Kedah organised four Lunar New Year youth happiness sharing meetings in Alor Setar, Sungai Petani and Kulim. A total of 211 youth attended these meetings, with 45 of them becoming Professors of Happiness. At a meeting in Lunas near Kulim on February 24, Young Men Division member Ewe Chwan Kheng shared his experience of overcoming challenges in relationships and studying in Taiwan through strengthening his faith and actively participating in SGI activities, developing a stronger bond with our mentor President Ikeda and a life of value-creation.

On February 27, four different styles of meetings were held throughout Penang, but with one purpose: to enable youth to learn what it means to live a fulfilled life through faith. Some 200 youth attended these meetings, with 20 of them being new friends.

The SGM Perak Youth Division held a meeting at the Kampar Centre that attracted over 160 youthful participants, including some 20 new friends. SGM Youth Division Leader Chia Kok Peng shared his experience, speaking about his beliefs and outlook on life, and what it means to live your dreams, inspiring the participants, many of whom are students, to ponder on their own paths.

On the East Coast, youth are also avidly sharing their experiences. On March 1, a gathering was held at the SGM Terengganu Culture Centre in the state capital Kuala Terengganu, where a Young Men Division member and Men Division member shared their experiences. In Pahang, four happiness sharing meetings were held from March 1 to 8. Youth Division members shared experiences and encouraged new friends who came.

Participants were inspired by the transformation achieved by the speakers through their practice of Nichiren Buddhism. SGM Youth Division members are determined to enable more people around them to become Professors of Happiness through the power and passion of youth.
