To champion the values of peace, inclusion and multicultural coexistence, the Terengganu Youth Peace Culture Festival, organised by SGM Terengganu, was held on 19 and 20 December 2025 at the SGM Terengganu Culture Centre. Attracting some 120 participants, the event offered a platform exploring the significance of peace in contemporary society through cultural exchange and creative practice.
Themed “Youth · Peace · Creating the Future Together,” it featured a vibrant dance performance by the junior division. The programme also included the “Seeds of Hope and Action” exhibition, cultural experience booths and interactive workshops. Through artistic creation, storytelling and group discussions, participants expressed their insights and aspirations regarding non-violence, respect for diversity and social harmony.
Dr Balachandran Krishnan, Special Officer (Non-Muslim Affairs) at the Office of the Menteri Besar of Terengganu lauded SGM’s longstanding peace initiatives, noting that in a peaceful environment, society can transcend prejudice and suspicion, and achieve common goals with a clearer vision. He praised SGM’s philosophy of “leaving no one behind,” describing it as a model of love and respect that other organisations should emulate to foster closer community bonds in Terengganu and across the nation.
Regarding social transformation, Dr Balachandran called upon all sectors of society to set aside differences and return to the fundamental principle of coexistence between humanity and nature. He offered a special message to the youth, encouraging them to serve as agents of change by speaking out courageously and integrating love and peace into their actions to ensure a secure future for Malaysia.
