In preparing for the Advanced Level Qualifications (A-Level) programme at Soka International School Malaysia (SISM) which will be launched next August, the school organised two online briefings on 9 and 16 November, conducted in English and Chinese respectively, to provide parents and students with an overview of the programme structure and future pathways.
This programme will be open to students entering Years 12 and 13. Students may choose three to four core subjects based on their interests and academic goals, laying a solid foundation for future applications to top universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, China and other parts of the world.
Beyond standard subjects like business and law, the programme also includes the International Project Qualification (IPQ), which encourages students to explore topics of personal interest in depth, strengthening their research and critical thinking skills while enhancing distinctiveness during university applications.
SISM will also offer a wide range of Super-Curricular activities to support students’ holistic development, including TEDx Student Talks, the Global Citizen Conference, the RISE Internship, the SOKA Community Service Programme and academic seminars. These experiences aim to broaden students’ perspectives and deepen their sense of global citizenship.
The school also announced the establishment of the Makiguchi Global Citizenship Scholarship, which will be open to both current and incoming students who meet the eligibility criteria, in recognition of outstanding academic achievement and potential.
Applications for the A-Level programme will be open from January to April 2026. Interested parents and students may email PreU@sism.edu.my or visit alevels.sism.edu.my for further information.
