SGM Holds Nationwide Briefing Sessions to Launch New E-Reading Platform “COSMIC Online”
To embrace the digital reading trend, Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) held three on-site briefing sessions and subsequently held a nationwide online briefing session on 9 October 2025, formally introducing and launching the brand-new reading platform, COSMIC Online, to its members.
SGM publications assistant head of department Khoo Koon Hoe opened the sessions by outlining the COSMIC Online’s structure, which includes the e-editions of SGM’s five organ magazines, FlippingBook and COSMIC News, which provides instant updates on activity reports and information. He further elaborated on the platform’s eight major advantages, such as no app download, flexible subscription packages, one-click login via the SGM member portal, and others, which significantly enhance the user experience.
Publications Department staff Goh Lim Erng then demonstrated the core features of “COSMIC Online,” such as text-to-speech and keyword or hashtag searches, all designed to improve the reading experience.
Yap Wai Wai, who is in charge of readers services, announced the new subscription packages for 2026 magazines and reminded members that the renewal and new subscriptions for the coming year will officially commence on 18 November this year. She also explained the relevant subscription procedures and important notes to ensure a smooth transition for members to the new e-reading platform.
In conclusion, publications head Chia Kok Peng encouraged all members and leaders to earnestly read the organ magazines to deeply appreciate their content and value as part of efforts in promoting them. He emphasised that the SGM publications are “bridges of faith” linking members, President Ikeda, and the philosophy of Soka, and also helps to positively transform the public’s perception of the Soka Gakkai.
COSMIC Online’s launch was met with enthusiastic feedback from members and leaders across the country, who praised the platform’s thoughtful design and practical functions. They commented that it makes daily reading and home visits much more convenient, injecting new momentum into their Buddhist practice.
