High School Division Holds Welcoming Meetings for New Members Nationwide; Nurturing Future with Resolve for Growth

Throughout March 2026, SGM held welcoming meetings for high school division (HSD) members across several states. Through study sessions, sharing and interactive activities, members – who represent the future – were encouraged to discover their potential, affirm their personal goals, and step forward into a new stage of their journey with a sense of mission.

Melaka: Discovering Potential, Challenging Goals

On 8 March, the SGM Melaka Culture Centre hosted a HSD welcoming meeting themed “Discovery.” Through a series of interactive games, members were encouraged to explore their inner potential. Leaders also guided participants to set goals for the new year and strive earnestly towards them.

During the session, Lim Hui Shan shared her personal experience of persevering in academic aspirations through faith, while also challenging herself in contemporary dance and achieving continuous growth. Melaka HSD person-in-charge Yoong Li Suen encouraged members to strengthen their “life engine” through chanting, unlocking limitless potential. SGM future division leader Nelson Tan also offered encouragement.

Penang: Learning and Growing through Interaction

On 14 March, the Penang HSD held welcoming meetings at the Penang Culture Centre and Bukit Tambun Culture Centre, alongside a graduation ceremony for junior division. Members studied content from Discussions on Youth, focusing on “laying the foundation of life,” and took part in a group tower-building activity.

New HSD members were warmly welcomed, and ice-breaking and singing helped build connections among participants. Group discussions centred on the theme “Do not compare yourself with others, but with who you were yesterday.” Through these exchanges, members deepened their understanding of one another and enjoyed a meaningful and enriching time together.

Kuala Lumpur: Affirming “Peace Starts with Me”

The Greater Kuala Lumpur HSD held welcoming meetings on 14 and 15 March at the Kepong and Petaling Jaya centres respectively. At the former, members studied President Ikeda’s “Seven Guidelines for the Future Division,” while at the latter, discussions on contemporary social issues followed ice-breaking activities. Through these sessions, members reaffirmed the importance of the principle “Peace starts with me” and reflected on practical actions they can take in their daily lives.

Through these welcoming meetings, HSD members took their first steps into a new phase in an atmosphere of warmth and encouragement, strengthening their resolve to build their future through faith and contribute to peace through their actions.
