Amala Group Holds 2025 Anniversary Meetings; Cheerful, Multilingual Faith Experiences Take Centrestage
In November and December 2025, SGM Amala Group held three Amala Group anniversary commemorative meetings in Kuala Lumpur and Penang. The meetings featured culture performances, Buddhist study sessions and faith experience sharings.
On 23 November and 14 December, Kuala Lumpur Amala Group conducted its meeting at the SGM Culture Centre and Selayang Centre respectively. A total of 48 leaders and members attended the session at the SGM Culture Centre, including five Soka friends. Two junior division members ably emceed the event in Tamil and Mandarin, while participants freely switched between Tamil, Mandarin and Bahasa Melayu, reflecting the diverse linguistic atmosphere.
Meanwhile, 65 members and their friends attended the meeting at the Selayang Centre, which opened with dances by the junior and youth divisions. This was followed by a study session encouraging participants to reflect on their faith and daily practice.
This meeting also featured faith experiences. Men’s division leader Ravi and his wife spoke about how their two-year-old child overcame illness, and how they overcame financial challenges through faith. Additionally, women’s division member Malar shared her experience in overcoming severe financial pressure through faith and participating actively in SGM activities.
The Penang Amala group held its meeting on 21 December at the SGM Penang Culture Centre, with 85 members and friends in attendance. The event opened with a joint dance performance presented by the four divisions, followed by experience sharing by members. Study sessions and discussions were also conducted on the importance of carrying out shakubuku and on facing and overcoming daily challenges through sincere faith. Participants expressed their resolve to put faith into action in their daily lives.
