Sage: Look at that building, its rooftop is covered in grass!

Caleb: That’s a rooftop garden. These days, many buildings have gardens on their rooftops or balconies.

Harmony: Isn’t there a garden near our house too?

Caleb: Yes, that’s a shared community garden where neighbours can enjoy planting together.

Sage: That sounds fun!

Caleb: Gardens like these, and other ways of adding greenery to cities, are very important in urban planning for the future. Plants absorb carbon dioxide, the main cause of the greenhouse effect. And large green spaces can also serve as evacuation sites during disasters.
