I was most struck by a quote about poetry I read recently: “We live in such a fast-paced world: poetry helps us slow down, deepen our attention, connect and live more fully.”
This was by Arthur Sze, the 25th and most recent US Poet Laureate. Sze, a second-generation Chinese American, is also the first Asian American to be named Poet Laureate.
