June is a special month for Soka women. 10 June is the 75th anniversary of the founding of the women’s division, a truly momentous milestone. In June 1951, around the time of the division’s founding, second Soka Gakkai president Josei Toda composed the following poem for the women’s division:
A noble gathering
like fragrant white lilies,
pure-hearted friends.
