Academic Conference on Chingiz Aitmatov and President Ikeda Held in Kyrgyzstan
From 20–22 May, an academic conference exploring the philosophies and friendship of the late Kyrgyz novelist Chingiz Aitmatov and President Ikeda was held in Kyrgyzstan. Their friendship gave rise to the published dialogue Ode to the Grand Spirit.
The conference took place at three venues, one of which was the National Academy of Sciences of the Kyrgyz Republic in the capital Bishkek.
A Soka Gakkai delegation from Japan attended alongside scholars, students and officials, including deputy chairperson of the Cabinet of Ministers Ulan Mamatkanov.
