The Young Men and Young Women Divisions of Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) held their respective commemorative division day meetings throughout the country in the month of July, which is also known as the “month of Youth” among SGM members.
In his message to the youth division of Malaysia, Soka Gakkai International (SGI) President Ikeda said that the youth should advance in unity with their comrades-in-faith.
The SGM Young Women Division (YWD)’s commemorative meeting was based on the theme “You are Eternally Beautiful”. Addressing the issue of happiness from the Buddhist perspective of three existences, the discussion aimed at encouraging the YWD members to develop a correct perspective of life and happiness. SGM YWD Leader Lim Tou Jing said in her message for the YWD Day, “No matter how glorious our youth can be, one will eventually age. A life, which is consistently looking forward for fame, will fall into ultimate misery. On the contrary, one who earnestly practices Buddhism will steadily create good fortune, which will last eternally throughout the three existences of life.”

Siew Choon Meng, SGM Young Men Leader, in his YMD Day message, said, “The Gakkai is the crystallization of the mentor-disciple spirit…Engraving the golden words of our mentor in our hearts, let us protect and strive with our lives to achieve our mentor’s wishes – and inherit his spirit in fighting against evil and injustice…As long as we have an overarching sense of responsibility, no matter what difficulties we may encounter along the way, we would be able to manifest the wisdom and strength to overcome our difficulties.”
