On October 26, 2008, Tadika Seri Soka (TSS), Cheras held its 14th Graduation Ceremony witnessed by Chairman of the TSS Board Choo Kong Fei, Principal Lee Kah Poh and over 300 proud parents at the kindergarten.
In his warm-hearted message to the 166 graduating children, Soka Schools system founder Daisaku Ikeda encouraged the children to be like big tress, who can withstand strong winds and all kinds of weather. He urged them to do their best and adopt a “never-be-defeated” attitude in life, and grow into person with big and strong hearts.
Chairman Choo in his speech used Mr. Ikeda’s poem to encourage the TSS graduates to have confidence, and to live true to themselves and to be brave in facing the challenges that lie ahead of them.
In conjunction with the graduation ceremony, these six-year-old children also staged a play entitled “The Princess and the Moon” based on the story of the same title written by Mr. Ikeda. The theme of the story is about treasuring other people, and learning to see things that matter in life. Such values like mutual respect and friendship are integral part of the educational curriculum of TSS which is founded on the principles of humanistic education. More than 2102 children have graduated from the kindergarten since its establishment in 1995.
