SGM Johor organised a health lecture entitled “Cancer in Females” at its culture centre in Johor Bahru and Batu Pahat on April 26, 2008, attracting about 450 members. The speaker was a member of SGM Doctors Group, Dr Foo Yee Ching, who said that the most common cancers affecting women in Malaysia are breast and cervix cancer. Dr Foo advised the audience to seek immediate medical care if there were signs of cancer development to avoid late treatment. At the end of the talk, Dr Foo quoted President Ikeda’s guidance, “Health is not simply a matter of absence of illness. Health means constant challenge. Constant creativity. A prolific life always moving forward, opening up fresh new vistas – that is a life of true health.”
