Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) Melaka held a Parents Day celebration on June 22, 2008 at the SGM Melaka Culture Centre. The youth division has been planning for the event since the beginning of the year, as a tribute to parents, and to remind everyone on the importance of gratitude towards the parents. The celebration saw members both young and old, performing dances and singing. The most outstanding was a sketch by the youth division about an abandoned baby being adopted by a single father. It was hilarious and at the same time touching.
