“Love Stone, Love Nature”

A year later, the Malaysian Stone Lover Society was again co-organising another national stone exhibition with SGM entitled “Love Stone, Love Nature” from March 2 to 9, 2008 at Wisma Kebudayaan SGM, Kuala Lumpur.

On display were more than a hundred and fifty pieces of stones of various sizes and colours, each one different from the other. Particularly interesting were the shapes of some of these exhibits which, when viewed at certain angles under certain lighting conditions, would appear to resemble some common objects such as birds, human beings, mountains or waterfalls. When displayed on wooden bases or embedded in sand along with accompanying objects such as a bonsai plant, figurines or beads, they take on a different level of meaning and arouse different thoughts or feelings in viewers. Indeed, the possibilities are endless if only we were willing to give ourselves some time to be drawn into the unique worlds of these natural wonders.

To complement the exhibition was a public lecture to elaborate on the beauty of such stones and give viewers a precious chance to inquire further into this hobby.
