Junior Division Day 2008

The SGM Junior Division members (boy and girls in primary school) celebrated their anniversary on July 3 with commemorative meetings and gatherings in respective states.


Junior Division Day in Perak

The Junior Division Day was celebrated at the Soka Gakkai Malaysia (SGM) Perak Culture Centre, Ipoh on July 6, 2008. A “Canteen Day” was organised, with the aim of educating the children on the wise use of money, and for them to appreciate the hard-earned money they receive from their parents. In the half-day event, over 60 children between the age of 10 to 12 years old were assigned to manage the stalls with the help from their seniors.

Junior Division Day in Penang

On July 12, over 300 children gathered at the SGM Penang Culture Centre in Bukit Tambun, Penang. Highlights of the gathering included a play and magic show. The youth symphonic band also gave a spirited performance during the celebration.

Meanwhile, on July 20, 100 boys and girls from the Junior Division of SGM Melaka visited the Melaka Prison Exhibition and the Melaka Fire Department in conjunction with the Junior Division Day.

A week later in Klang, SGM Selangor organised a sports day on July 27, in conjunction with the Junior Division Day. Excitement filled the air as children participated in various games prepared for them at the SGM Selangor Culture Centre. The games were fun-filled and provided an opportunity for the boys and girls to learn about teamwork, the importance of perseverance and not giving up.
