Over a hundred photographs by top Chilean photographers were displayed at the Wisma Kebudayaan SGM, Kuala Lumpur, from December 7 to 14, 2008. The exhibition, aptly entitled "Chile – All Ways Surprising", was organised by SGM and the Embassy of Chile and opened by Mr José Manuel Ovalle, the Designated Chilean Ambassador to Malaysia.
The selection of photographs captures the marvels and stunning diversity and beauty of this exotic country which lies south of Peru, stretching more than 4,000 km towards the Antarctica. The subjects ranged from the world's driest desert in the North to the bitterly cold weather in the biggest glaciers in the South and from the tallest Andes mountains to the beautiful beaches of the Pacific Ocean. There were also images of snow-capped volcanoes, peaceful lagoons, out-of-the-world valleys and even a mummy resting in peace.
Not forgotten were also the beautiful scenes of the mundane life such as fishing, horse-breaking, windsurfing and dancing in a festivity. Under their skilled hands, buildings, statues and church doors reveal telling details of the people's lives.
