SGM Holds Junior Division Camps
A one-day Peace Camp was organised by the SGM Johor Junior Division on October 27, 2011. The camp strove to strengthen the awareness among the participants of their commonalities and shared destiny as human beings. The camp began with a study session on the concept of peace and its expansive nature, beginning with peace within oneself, with nature and the environment, among friends, communities and the world.
The games they played not only livened up the atmosphere and created fun but also drove home the message of peace. In the "Disentangling Game", players attempted to disentangle themselves without hurting others – learning the possibility to achieve peace by solving conflicts via non-violent means and with consideration for others.

Other activities included a mime-and-drama, musical performances, art and craft activity, fan dance, non-competitive games and a mock world peace pledge. The children also used twigs and recyclable materials to produce craft - reminding them to re-use recyclable material and reduce wastage. The grand finale of the day was the mock World Peace Pledge where children dressed themselves up as representatives of different nations and read out their pledges for peace. These activities helped them to learn about peacemaking skills, respect for all people, the interconnectedness of all beings, how to appreciate peace and that everyone has a duty towards promoting peace.
SGM Pahang also organised a two-day-one-night camp for Junior Division members under the theme, "Let's go travel, friend" on December 10 and 11, 2011. Apart from the experience of travelling overseas, the children also learned about the importance of religion, friendship, study and family. The JD camps and graduation camps were also held in Kedah, Kuala Lumpur, Melaka and Perak.
