February 14 was the first day of the “Year of the Tiger” in the Lunar calendar. SGM members and friends, young and old, adorned with new clothes, attended a commemorative gongyo at SGM culture centres in respective state to welcome the new year.

SGM General Director, Choo Kong Fei, in his speech pointed out that, “Yearly plans start in spring and daily plans begin in the morning.” He called upon the members to seize the opportunity to spread harmony among the citizens and carry out kosen-rufu in early spring. He also reminded the youth division members to be filial to their parents and respect the elders.
